What are the points of A', B' and C' after a dilation by the scale factor of 2 about the point (-1, 3)?
First, you have to find the distance from the center to all three points. To get them, use the distance formula:
After applying the formula, you get the distance from A to the center is 5, the distance from B is 1, and the distance from C is 8.
Now you just multiply the distances by the scale factor, 2. That means the distance from the center to A' is 10, to B' is 2, and to C' is 16. Then, you place the new points at the end of lines you just created leaving us with:
