Unit 2 lesson 1 teaches how to tell if angles are congruent or supplementary when a transversal cuts through a set of parallel lines. The angles we learn about are
- Alternate Interior Angles Theorem - Angles which are on opposite sides of the transversal, and within the parallel lines. They are congruent. Eg. ∠3 & ∠5
- Alternate Exterior Angles Theorem - Angles which are on opposite sides of the transversal, and on opposite sides of the parallel lines. They are congruent. Eg. ∠1 & ∠7
- Corresponding Angles Theorem - Angles which are on the same side of the transversal, and same side of the parallel lines. They are congruent. Eg. ∠4 & ∠8
- Same Side Interior Angles Theorem - Angles which are on the same side of the transversal, and between the parallel lines. The are supplementary. Eg. ∠3 & ∠6
