Unit 2 Lesson 6
In Unit 2 Lesson 6, we learned about 2 types of transformations:
- Translations - Where all points from the pre-image has been moved the same distance and the same direction to the image. Shown with a translation vector: <changeInX, changeInY> or a mapping rule: <x + changeInX, y + changeInY>
- Reflections - Where you reflect the pre-image over the line of reflection to get the image. Shown by declaring the line of reflection eg. y=x
These are both isometries, a transformation where the pre-image and image are both congruent. Along with all this, we learned about composite transformations which are transformations followed by another.
